Project description

The project provides financial services and facilitates socio-economic inclusion for disadvantaged and poor women, supporting household economy development, response to saltwater intrusion and new rural development. The program provides micro credit, and offers a savings facility. In addition, the programme provides financial education and training sessions for credit groups.

As a response to drought, Hulza Foundation's support in 2016 enabled MCNV to provide loans to help families to build large water containers to retain more rain water for human consumption during dry season.

With financial support from Jumpstart Foundation, MCNV collaborated with the Ben Tre provincial Womens Union to establish women cooperatives, which provide stable jobs and income for poor women. These jobs help poor families to adapt to climate change by reducing their dependency on farming.
