Project description

The Gender Lens Incubation and Acceleration (GLIA) Toolkit - launched by the Sasakawa Peace Foundation (SPF), in partnership with the Frontier Incubators program of the Australian Government Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) - guides Entrepreneurship Support Organisations in Southeast Asia through the process of designing and implementing strategies to improve gender equality across their organisation, programs, and ecosystem, through the provision of practical guidelines, case studies, and frameworks.

The newly released GLIA Toolkit 2.0 includes updated gender and impact measurement metrics that help ESOs measure, evaluate, and learn from the impact of the strategies they implement alongside new training modules focusing on themes including negotiation, gender in products and services, impostor syndrome, and gender and power.

Project evaluation

Evaluation source

The orginal toolkit was the result of a 12-month collaborative process. To validate and contextualize the guidelines, frameworks, and recommendations for Southeast Asia, the GLIA toolkit underwent a rigorous pilot testing phase conducted by six leading Entrepreneurship Support Organisations across the region: ONOW Myanmar (Myanmar), Phandeeyar (Myanmar), Instellar (Indonesia), xchange (Philippines), SHE investments (Cambodia), and Agile development group (Cambodia).

To validate and contextualize the new contents, the GLIA toolkit 2.0 underwent a rigorous pilot testing phase conducted by 9 leading ESOs in Southeast Asia: Change Fusion (Thailand), Impact Hub Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), Impact Palu (Indonesia), Makesense (Philippines), New Energy Nexus (Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Philippines), Villgro (Philippines), WISE (Vietnam), Instellar (Indonesia), and SHE Investments (Cambodia).

Beyond the pilot testing, there doesn't appear to have been any systematic evaluation of the implementation and impacts of the toolkit.
