Project description
This grant will support in-depth studies of the legal situation, demands and struggles of the working poor (especially women) in the informal economies of in Ghana, Peru and Thailand. The project will build on an interactive process involving member-based organizations of informal workers, as well as a range of stakeholders and legal experts in each of the three countries. Researchers will analyze the laws, regulations and policies that affect the work, working conditions and livelihoods of informal workers. The project is expected to contribute to the design of an enabling legal and regulatory environment for informal workers in the countries involved and beyond.
